“Stay the fuck out of my head, Daris. If you did you wouldn’t have to know I think about her on her knees.” He stands, knocking the whore over and tucks his cock back into his pants, walking out of my office.

“Get the fuck out, and don’t come in here unless you are told. Got it?” I bark. She stands and runs for the door, her hand on the handle.

“Rose,” I growl. She turns to face me, eyes on the ground.

  “Thank you, sir.”

“Fuck off.” She doesn’t waste a second getting away.

“FUCK!” I yell, slamming my fists into my desk. I am more mad at myself because I truly don’t know if I would stop him from touching my girl. Ian and I have always shared… but her?

I run my hands through my hair, resting back in my chair. Fuck, who can blame him for thinking of her? She is a fucking smoke show. I need to get home and fuck my girl.

  Chapter 7

  Presly

When we get back to the house, Daris isn’t home, I’m relieved but curious about where he could be. I’ve been gone for hours, and he’s still out. Feeding maybe? The thought turns my stomach, even though I just fed on some dude. Fuck, what was I thinking? I picture Daris with his lips on a woman… nope, don’t go there. Daris is going to lose his shit when he finds out what I did. “Fuck,” I groan, turning the corner to the kitchen and running right into Ian.

  “Fuck!” I snap.

“Yes, you already said that. You good, Little One?” He asks, scrutinizing me.

“I’m… yeah…” I walk to the kitchen, dragging my hands down my face in frustration.

“Struggling with the whole vampire thing? Because you seem to be handling it better than most.”

“That’s probably because I was unconscious through the change. And, ya know, the whole dark witch thing is more than likely helping. Why aren’t I going crazy or some shit?” I ask him, but more to myself.

“You could be right. The dark witch in you could have something to do with it, but I couldn’t tell you. I have never had this experience.” His voice is soft and full of understanding. I stare at him for what feels like far too long. I sigh deeply, pressing my palms to the countertop, steadying myself before closing my eyes. I feel his hands on the tops of my shoulders, gently massaging, moving slowly to my neck. Sending shivers down my body, I shudder, tipping my head back slightly. His breath against my neck… oh God… no. This is wrong.

“Presly,” he whispers in my ear.

“Am I interrupting?” Ian and I both snap our heads toward an angry-looking Jess. Her nostrils flare, she’s not glaring at me but at Ian. Ian drops his hands from my shoulders and puts some distance between us. I look from him to Jess and sense there is something there… are they...? No. They’re holding one another’s gaze.

“Am I interrupting?” I shoot them a questioning look, my eyes shifting between them.

“Nope,” Ian says, narrowing his eyes at her.

“Not at all, Ian should know better than to put his hands on you,” she says, walking to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water.

“Okay, this has gotten awkward,” I say, pushing off the counter. I step towards the doorway.

“You stay, I’ll go,” Ian says, exiting the kitchen. Jess turns her eyes to me.

“Are you alright?” She asks, seeming genuinely concerned. Is that all it was? That makes more sense than Jess and Ian having a thing going on.

“Yes, I’m fine. Are you? Are you fucking him, Jess? Do you want to fuck him?” I ask, not for the first time, I know. I normally wouldn’t ever ask such a thing, but hey, I’m not the normal me, am I?

“No, he’s… a parasite,” she says unconvincingly. I still hate lies, so that hasn’t changed.

“Oh, okay. So you wouldn’t care if I said I was fine with his hands on my body and I’m going to go find him and let him have his way with me like we all know he wants?” I say coolly, levelling her with a look.

“If you don’t mind Daris annihilating him.” She takes a drink from her bottle, face impassive. Hmm, maybe she was worried about me. I suck at reading people now. Having a heart apparently is key to understanding feelings. Well, I kept my distrust but gained a big mouth. We stand staring at each other for a long moment before Eva walks in. She looks at me, then Jess.

“What’s going on?” She asks, barely above a whisper.

“Oh… nothing. I was just asking Jess if she wanted to fuck Ian.” I smirk.

“Eww.” She scrunches her nose. I roll my eyes and walk to the fridge to grab something to eat. I am starving, but not for blood… yet.

“What’s gross about that? Ian is sexy as hell,” I snort, pulling out a bowl of what looks to be Greek salad.

“If you’re into scary vampire types, sure,” Eva says, and I turn to glare at her.

“Oh, right,” she mutters. Jess clears her throat.

“So, do you want to see if there is some magic in that vampire body of yours?” She asks.

“Hmm, how are we going to do that?” I ask, stuffing a forkful of cucumber in my mouth.

“Well, you try a simple incantation, or you could try to use the elements. See if you can focus on wind or fire… something. Move something? I don’t know, but you should try.” She shrugs.

“But I used to have to get angry, worked up to make something happen that was usually out of my control.” I sigh.

“Well, it’s worth a shot. Maybe becoming a vampire has given you more control,” Eva suggests.

I don’t want to admit I’m afraid. What if I have less control or… I don’t have the power in me any longer. I know I didn’t want it to begin with, but it made me feel closer to my mother.

“Yeah, okay. Let’s try what I used the first time: a candle.” I shrug, eating some more salad.

They start searching through cupboards and drawers. I use the opportunity to find Ian.

There are stairs leading down, and my mind flashes to the cellar in their other home… fuck that. I’m not going to walk into a sex dungeon. I walk further down the hall passing by Daris’ room and the other two rooms I know are Jess and Eva’s. There are a couple more doors, but I hear music coming from one door. I turn the knob, and “Sick Like Me” by In This Moment is playing through a speaker.

“Alexa, stop,” Ian’s voice comes from one of the doors in his room, which I assume is the bathroom.

“What can I do for you, Little One?” He asks without coming into the room.

His room is what I expected: dark and minimal. There is a king-size bed in the middle of the room with black bedding and a black headboard. Two matching side tables and a dresser are also black. There is a couch by the window, also black.

“What do you need?” He asks his breath on my ear. I flinch slightly. I walk around his room to his dresser and pick up a picture of a family: a mother, father, baby girl, and young boy. I can tell the boy is Ian.

“This was your family?” I ask, running my finger along the frame.

“Yes, Little One. Now, what can I do for you?” He asks in my ear, taking the picture from me and placing it back on the dresser.

“Do you miss them?” He straightens to his full height and looks down at me. “Presly, did you come here to ask about my family or…” He trails off, running his fingers along my collarbone. I tilt my head back to look up at him.

“Are you and Jess fucking?” I search his eyes, waiting for a lie.

“Hmm, would that be wrong? Would it make you jealous to know my cock was parting her lips and feeling her warmth around me?” He whispers, and my core clenches at his words. If my heart was beating, I’m sure it would be winning a race to the finish line. I narrow my eyes at him and shake my head.

“No, it wouldn’t make me jealous because we both know it’s me you want to be inside of.” I cock an eyebrow at him. A sinister smile spreads across his lips. His hand wraps around my throat, and he rushes me backward until I thud against a wall. I reach up and pull his arm as hard as I can, and he barely budges.

“You see, Little One, you may be strong, stronger than a human, but you are nowhere near as strong as me or Daris, for that matter.” He leans his mouth so close to mine that I can almost feel his lips touching mine.

“Ian,” I squeak, my hands wrapped around his tensed forearm. He loosens his grip on my neck slightly.

“Is that all you wanted, to know if my hard cock was in Jess?” I nod, or I try to.

“Who I fuck is none of your business. I have to listen to you moan every fucking night. Maybe you need to hear me making someone moan for me.” He narrows his eyes. I chew my bottom lip to keep from making an involuntary noise.

“Stop it, Ian. I don’t care if you fuck anyone. Just stay away from Jess and Eva.” I glare at him. The heat is pooling between my legs, making the need to get away from him urgent. I made a mistake coming in here. I can’t trust my goddamn libido.

He’s studying me too closely, his eyes on my mouth. He leans down breathing in long and slow, lowering his nose to my mouth. He stills, and a rumble comes from deep in his chest. His mouth hovers over mine, and I feel his cool tongue lick across my mouth, and I try to pull back.

“Ian, stop. Daris will kill you.” I beg.

“I don’t think he will. I can smell the blood on you, Presly, just like I can smell that sweet cunt of yours, but he wouldn’t kill me. Do you think you’re the only woman in centuries to get both of our attention? It’s usually him who interferes with my woman, but now it’s tit for tat. Hmm, he may even take you to the cellar and punish you there.” He shrugs with a look of menace across his face.

“Fuuuck, I would love to watch that,” he groans.

“I thought you were supposed to be the nice one, the one with his humanity intact?” I whisper as a tear escapes my eye.

“Oh, I do keep my humanity, but I was a sexual deviant before I turned. The pain on a woman’s face when I have her tied up is pure satisfaction. It’s all about pleasure,” he says, leaning down and licking the trail the tear left on my cheek.

“Mmmm, the taste of fear. It looks amazing on you,” he whispers, pulling back and resting against the door frame, waiting for me to leave.

“You’re a fucking asshole, Ian.” I spit as I storm past him.

“Yes, I know, Little One,” he says before I hear his bedroom door slam.

What the fuck am I going to do? I storm back into the kitchen. Both girls are standing there waiting with a couple of candles.

“Well… I’m fucking mad now! So let’s try it!” I snap. Both girls look at me with concern and a little fear.

“Both of you stay the hell away from Ian. Got it?!” I have no idea if I say it to keep them safe or because of… whatever. They share a glance but nod.

“Are you sure you want to try now? We can wait until later, you seem upset?” Jess says, looking at me with concern.

“You’ve been crying. Why? Did he hurt you?” Eva asks, coming over and gently running her hand down my back. I’m not sure why, but I shrink away from her touch.

“Sorry,” she says, pulling her hand back.

“It’s fine, let’s just do this.”

Jess places the candles on the kitchen island and steps back.

“Okay, all I have to do is concentrate.” I am staring at the candles. I used to take calming breaths, it seems stupid now, but it’s instinct, so I do it anyway. I close my eyes and see the flame on the candle. I hear Eva squeal a little and clap her hands. I open my eyes, both candles lit. Whoa.

“Well, that wasn’t hard at all.” I hold my hand up, inspecting it as the intense energy pulses through my veins, surging to my fingertips. The familiar, electrifying buzz courses under my skin, begging to be unleashed. I turn my palm toward the candle, feeling the raw power coiling within me. As I exhale slowly, I channel the energy outward, pushing it through my hand. A forceful gust of air erupts from my palm, snuffing out the candle flames in an instant. I feel a triumphant thrill at the command I wield.

“Holy shit Pres, that’s so badass!” Eva bounces with excitement. Jess is examining me.

“What is it, Jess?” I ask, lowering my hands.

“Nothing. Just making sure you’re okay and still… you.” She exhales slowly like she has been holding her breath.

“What do you mean, still me?” I snort.

“Not the Dark Witch.” She shifts her gaze to Eva.

“Oh my god, I’m fine. I now know I’m still a witch and a vampire. Shockingly, the world hasn’t come to an end.”

“You have to admit you’re different,” Jess says, leaning back on the counter and crossing her arms.

“Yeah… well, obviously. I look a little different, and well, I’m dead-ish.” I roll my eyes.

“Presly, you know what I mean. You would never have said things like you do now. You’re aggressive and… I don’t know… like at the store with that guy. Have you ever been that bold with a guy?”

“What guy?” Daris growls loudly as he enters the kitchen. If I had a beating heart, it would have stopped. He’s directly behind me I can feel his energy looming over me. The expression on Jess and Eva’s faces tells me all I need to know.

“Leave now!” He shouts so loud my ears ring. Jess and Eva look to me for direction.

“Go, I’m… I’ll be…” I stumble over my words before Daris yells again.

“Out!” I nod at them to go, and they rush out, leaving me with a livid Daris.

I turn to face him, and he’s right at my back. He pushes into me, pinning me against the island. It’s digging into my back as he pushes his hips into me harder, making me feel as if I’m about to be crushed to dust. I wince from the pain, grabbing his hips to push him back. He grips my wrists, pulling them in front of me and pinning them to my chest with one hand. He grabs the hair at the nape of my neck, tilting my head back to look at him. His eyes are black pools, the anger rolling off him almost suffocating me. He’s going to kill me… or the store guy.

“What-guy-Presly,” he growls, emphasizing each word, leaning his face down, smelling me. He loosens his grip on my hands, and I pull them free to take his face in my hands.

“You fed on a man today, where?”

  “Daris, I—”

“Where!?” He snaps inches from my face. I’m shaking as his hand grips my jaw.

“He was a sales guy at the store. Please, Daris, I didn’t realize how hard it would be,” I plead.

“On his neck?” He asks through clenched teeth.

  “No, his wrist,” I whisper.

“Left him alive, didn’t kill him?” He searches my eyes, looking for the truth.

“No, no… he’s alive, and I want it to stay that way.” I look into his eyes, pleading. His hand moves from my jaw to my throat.

“Pardon?” He laughs, not in a ha-ha, that’s funny way, but more of a menacing bone-chilling one you hear from the psychos in movies. “Do you think I give a fuck what you want right now? You disobeyed me! You put your mouth on another man, and you think I fucking care what you want?” His voice has calmed. It’s steady and low, too calm. I can see he’s determining what to do with me, to me.

“Yesterday, you didn’t give a fuck if Jess lived or died. Now, today, you care about some random guy?”

“I know it’s confusing. I’m confused. My emotions are all over the place.”

“I don’t give a shit about your emotions. I care about you putting that mouth, my property, on another man.”

“Daris, I won’t do it again. I know my limits now,” I beg. His chest begins to shake, and he shakes his head. He’s laughing at me.

“So naïve, you have no control over your emotions, so don’t make empty promises. Let’s see how bad this gets when the Dark Witch wants to come out and play.” He glares down at me. I hear the words echo in my mind from the store: “Just kill him.”

  “Fine… I’ll try my best.”

“No, you won’t leave this goddamn house!” He snaps. I shrink under his glare. He’s seething, angry as hell. Is he going to kill him? He can’t possibly know what man I drank from. Hell, I don’t even remember his name.

“Be reasonable, Daris,” I say, placing my hands on his chest. “How often did you mess up when you first turned? I’m not perfect.”

“The difference here, My Sweet, is you belong to me and do what I fucking tell you. If I tell you to stay, you stay. If I tell you to sit, you sit. If I decide to lock you up in the cellar just so I can use you, then that’s where you will be.”

I stare up at him wide-eyed, jaw dropped. Is he fucking serious? I see amusement dance in his eyes at my shock. A smirk tugs at his lips, and I know he wants to push me further.

“If I tell you to get on your knees and bark like a fucking dog, you will. If I tell you to spread those legs and spread that greedy little cunt wide open for… whoever I decide to use to punish you. You will do as I fucking say. I own you. You belong to me.”

“Fuck you, Daris,” I say, shoving him as hard as I can. He’s not expecting it, so he goes back a few inches, enough for me to escape his grasp. I don’t get far before he grabs my arm, spinning me around. I slam into his chest, and he digs his fingers into my arm, gripping my neck in his other hand, lifting me off the ground. My feet dangle just above the floor. I kick my feet, trying to find purchase, but it’s no use.

“Oh, My Sweet little fucking nightmare, you’re not so breakable now, so this could get genuinely fun.” His mouth hovers over mine, and I take the opportunity to dart my tongue out and swipe it across his bottom lip. I know him well enough to know I am his weakness. The action pulls a low growl from him, and he closes his eyes.

“Presly,” he warns. I do it again, this time bringing my hand to wrap around his neck and lifting my legs to wrap around his waist, causing him to loosen his grip on my neck.

“Fuuuck,” he groans, gripping my ass, pulling me into him. He presses his mouth to mine, and this time, a growl comes from me, it crawls up my chest, rumbling my throat as it escapes my dry lips.

“Tell me, did you enjoy touching another man?” He whispers against my lips.
