“Please, don’t stop. I’m almost… oh fuck,” she moans. “Please,” she begs, but I don’t know for what. My teeth are embedded in her thigh still. She grips my wrist that is on her knee and she pulls my hand up her thigh. She wants me to finish her… I can’t… Daris… I grip her thigh harder, causing her to moan loudly. I pull my teeth out and sink into a new spot.

“Yes, yes!” She moans loudly. Ahh, she likes the pain. I grip her inner thighs and bite once more before she comes undone. Her body goes slack and she falls back on the bed, breathless. Her thighs are bruised and bloody, but I don’t think she’ll care. I stand looking down at her as I fix my dress. Relief washes over me as I feel the effects of her blood. I feel stronger now and calmer.

“Take your time. We don’t need anything.” I leave her there to recoup and join Eva, who is glaring at me as I plop in the seat across from her.

“Don’t scowl at me, Eva. I need to feed. I didn’t kill her.” I take a long drink of the bubbly liquid in front of me.

“Did you have to make her moan?” She crosses her arms over her chest. I almost spit the champagne out and laugh.

“No, but it made it more enjoyable for her. I’m a pleaser, what can I say.” I take another drink.

“You know Daris will kill her and maybe you.”

“He won’t know.” I’m not going to explain to her that I didn’t touch her how she thinks I did. “Are you jealous? Did you want to join us?” I glide my tongue along my teeth, letting my eyes fall to her cleavage.

“Funny,” she scoffs, rolling her eyes. “Is it funny?” Her expression turns to one of confusion. “What is that supposed to mean?” I lean forward, placing my now empty glass on the table. Purposefully sliding my eyes down her entire form, from her tits downs to her feet and back up to meet her narrowed eyes.

“Knock it off, Pres.” She shakes her head.

“I think maybe… you wanted to play that night with Jess. I think maybe you wanted to slide those fingers down to my pussy and—”

“Stop it!” she snaps, standing and walking to the bathroom. I laugh as she storms off, slamming the door behind her. I don’t know why I just did that, but it was fun getting a rise out of her.

“We are beginning our descent and will be landing momentarily. Please prepare yourselves for landing.”

  Chapter 26

  Daris

She looks so amazing tonight in that dress. She leans against the railing, head tilted to the steepled ceiling, causing her long blonde locks to brush the top of her plump ass. Fuck. My cock is twitching at the site of her. I can’t wait to rip that dress off her body so she can’t wear it anymore because I will be dammed if she is seen in it again. Fucking tits on display for everyone to see, hugging every curve of her body.

She is spiralling. She needs space right now, but I can’t give it to her. If she turns back to a witch, she can be killed, and I am not so naive as to believe she doesn’t have a shit load of enemies now that the word is out of what she is. A hybrid.

“How is this even possible?” Jess’ voice finally breaks the silence. “And what exactly can she do to help.”

I turn to see Jess and Lily in some kind of witchy stare-off. Jess isn’t in a position to piss Lily off. Lily could end her with a flick of her wrist, making it looks like a heart attack or some shit.

“She has a name, little girl and I bring experience and connections.” Lily slowly steps toward Jess. She gets a few feet away before Jax steps in between them pulling a snort of derision from Lily.

“Seriously?” She laughs, looking up at Jax. “Is she your new plaything? Must be more but I thought you just fucked them and left them broken.” She runs her fingers up his chest. Jax doesn’t respond. He just looks down at her with amusement. Jax knows Lily hasn’t gotten over their night together, but he doesn’t give a fuck about her… or any woman for that matter. Lily has fucked most of the guys in this place. I don’t fuck witches, so I never went there. Not that Lily isn’t hot, because she is. For Jax, women have always been for his amusement. Toys to play with, and he needs a new one once he breaks the toy.

“I don’t need you to protect me. I’m not yours to protect, asshole.” Jess steps around Jax so she is beside Lily. Both girls look up at Jax. His jaw tightens, and he reaches over, grabbing Jess by her throat and pulling her to him. Her expression is still a statue, not giving anything away… but her heart betrays her as it speeds up. She can’t hide that.

“That’s where you’re wrong, Princess. You can fight it all you want, but the fact is you are mine… to break.” His nostrils flare as his other hand comes up, brushing her long, dark hair behind her ear. He leans down so his mouth is at her ear. “Your pulse is racing, baby. You want me to break that uptight little cunt don’t you.” I note Lily’s hand fist at her side.

“Get the fuck off of me,” she says right before her tiny fist makes contact with the side of his face a fuck of a lot harder this time. He doesn’t flinch, but Jess screams out in pain. “Fuck!”

Ian steps in. “Okay. Enough Jax. Let her go.” Jax looks from Jess to Ian and back to her. Jess is now looking at Ian with that look of adoration she tries to hide. Jax notices, of course, and lets out a huff, loosening the grip on her. Ian pats his shoulder, making him meet his eyes.

“Nothing to worry about, big guy. She’s all yours, but you can’t hurt her without hurting our girl, so let her go.” Jax nods slightly and releases her and turns to the bar behind my desk. He grabs a cloth and opens the bucket of ice, filling the cloth with ice. He walks back, leaning against my desk. Ian retreats and sits on the couch. Jess’ eyes follow his movements and realize he left her standing there. He has no attachments to her, and it hurts her, but that’s life. She holds her hand to her chest, glaring at Jax now.

“Come here, Princess,” he demands. She glares at him, and if she could, I am sure she would set him on fire. She opens her mouth to smart-mouth him, I am sure.

“It wasn’t a request, Princess. Come here now.” She narrows her eyes, and I can tell he is losing his patience… which is almost non-existent. In the decades I have known Jax, I have not heard him ask for something more than once a handful of times, but I have a feeling Jess is going to make him repeat himself a lot. I chuckle at that, and all eyes turn to me… except Jax, who is narrowed in on his prey. I shake my head.

“Jess quit being a stubborn bitch and just let him put ice on the hand you tried to break on his jaw so we can focus on the matter at hand and not your high school crush bullshit, okay?” I catch Jax’s thoughts. “Sorry, man, but I know her better than you, and she is a bitch.” She glares at me. I hold my hands up in surrender. “Okay.” It’s hard to respect a woman after you watch her lick your come off your girl’s face.

“Fuck both of you,” Jess mutters, but she goes to stand in front of Jax. He stands and lifts her to sit on the desk and takes her hand, pressing the ice to her already swollen knuckles.

“Lily, do you have anything helpful to add?” I ask, turning my attention to her, hoping she has come up with something… anything.

“Yeah, she should run as far as she can away from that mother fucker.” She glares at Jax, who doesn’t acknowledge her at all.

“Not what I fucking meant, Lily! Focus on why the hell you are here.” She sighs and turns her attention to me and Ian.

“I’ve only ever heard of something this insane, never witnessed it. Sadie has been doing a lot of investigating and asking a lot of questions. I’ve had my ear to the ground about Lucas and his whereabouts. I can tell you this, Daris. He has a small army forming behind him out of sheer fear that there are more daggers out there and that this Dark Witch is out for blood. Vampire blood.”

“That’s fucking absurd! She is a vampire!” Ian snaps.

“Ian, many vampires want Daris dead, and newsflash, he’s a vampire,” her sarcastic tone makes Jess laugh.

“Will Sadie have something for us at the ball tomorrow?” I ask.

“We have to sit tight because I’m on a mission for the 411. Got a few leads in the oven, just waiting for them to bake. You know, dealing with the LeBlanc bloodline is like untangling Christmas lights - a total mess, but their unique, dark power is the talk of the supernatural town. The LeBlancs have been striking fear into hearts for centuries – talk about a power move. Vampire slash, Dark Witch? Shit could get fucked up at the ball. Now, hold onto your asses because if an elder witch is MIA and Lucas is involved, you can bet your last dollar Delyth is there by choice. It’s not rocket science. I mean, come on, she could bail if she felt like it. We’re not dealing with hostages here; it’s more like a drama-fueled family reunion. Just watch, we’ll crack this LeBlanc shit wide open, and everyone will be sipping tea like it’s a supernatural soap opera.”

“Not if he’s threatened her daughter’s life,” Ian adds.

“What are you talking about? Delyth doesn’t have a daughter.”

“What? Yes, she does. Eva,” I correct her.

“She doesn’t have a biological daughter, or there would have been a paper trail in their well-documented family tree.”

“You’re all messed up on the family tree. Delyth was adopted from another coven before Preslys mother, Hope was born. Their mom thought she was unable to have kids. You didn’t find that in the family tree,” Jess says, walking away from Jax to stand beside Lily. “Eva just told Presly and me.”

“That’s a lie told by someone because Delyth is blood. Someone is spinning a web to hide something or someone.” Lily says.

“What the fuck. Could she possibly be… using Presly for some bigger plan? If neither Eva nor Delyth is of LeBlanc blood, it means neither can use the dagger.” Nathan makes a good point. Could both witches just be pawns, or are they running shit?

“No way. Eva loves Presly. She wouldn’t hurt her,” Jess interjects.

“We now have two reasons why Lucas kept Presly alive. His obsession with Hope, Presly’s mother, and he may believe no one else can use the dagger. But why does he want it? Why doesn’t he want it destroyed like every other vampire?” Ian asks, running his hand through his hair, getting more frustrated at this fucked up situation.

“What about the guy they saw that looked like her brother? Could he have been there or just visible because of the veil being what it is right now?” I ask no one in particular.

“I have no idea, but I know what I saw,” Jess sighs rubbing her hands over her face.

“He could have been there because of the veil. But seriously, can anyone even figure out if Presly can wield that fucking dagger as a vampire now? I mean, come on! Lucas, of all people, totally underestimated the Dark Witch, and now we’re left scratching our heads. She might just off Presly and hijack her body, transforming her right back into a witch, dripping with Leblanc blood. And let’s not even pretend the Dark Witch won’t have a field day tearing through every vampire in sight, including you!” Lily throws her hands up in exasperation before letting out a heavy, irritated sigh. Her eyes shift to the window, and I follow her now wide-eyed expression.

“Where the hell did they go?” I snap, running to the door. “Lock it down!” I shout behind me to Jax and Nathan, who move lightning-fast. I am searching the dance floor. “Bathrooms!” I bark over my shoulder, and I hear heels running… Jess and Lily. I look down at Jax and Nathan both shake their heads.

I leap over the railing, and Ian is not far behind. “Cut the music!” Ian yells to the DJ. Everyone freezes.

“My girl and her friend are missing. If she is not found, we start ripping heads off!” I call out. I am anything but calm. Where the fuck is she? I look up to see Lily and Jess. They both shake their heads. Jess pushes off the rail and runs down the stairs, heading to me. I can hear her racing worries, but I have no time to deal with her barrage of questions and worries. She stops in front of me, eyes wide. “Find her, Daris. You have to find her.” Her panicking eyes bounce around the club. She had no idea this was going to happen, which makes me seriously worry someone took her.

“Search the cameras,” I call to Nathan. “Already on it boss.” He nods toward the bar. I make my way to the security room behind the bar. Rose catches my eye; she holds her breath, backing up as I turn to her. She shakes her head vigorously. “No,” she breathes, wide-eyed. I can read her thoughts and know it wasn’t her. I continue to the security room. There are two men in front of the screens. I see the night events in fast-forward on the screens. One stops on the girls standing at the railing.

“Stop right there. That’s when she wanted space.” The guy lets it play and we see them chatting and then turn and walk out of the shot.

“Is there another camera?” Ian asks before I can.

“Yes, give me a second,” the other guy says. He pulls up the cameras facing the bathrooms, and the girls walk right past it to the stairwell. “Fuck!” I can’t control my anger right now. I am going to beat her ass!

  “Show me the stairwell!”

“Easy big fella, they can’t work fast if they’re pissing themselves,” Ian mutters. I grind my teeth, waiting for what feels like an eternity.

“There are no cameras in the stairwell,” one of the guys says with a shaky voice.

“Got her,” the other says, and we see a flash exiting the door outside. He slows it down so we see Presly carrying Eva at her side. She goes out of frame yet again. He flips to another camera view of the front of the building, and we see her move into the darkness. Where the fuck?

“Jess!” Ian calls from behind me. I turn to the door as she walks in. Jax is at her back. I am too angry to approach her. I want to tear her head off just for being here.

“How did you get here?” Ian asks the question I was thinking.

“She drove. We took one of the cars.” Ian pats his chest and then frantically checks his pockets.

“Fucking Little Nightmare,” he mutters. I’m going to strangle her! She took my phone,” he says through gritted teeth.

“Which car?” My patience is non-existent now.

“Umm… she squeezes her eyes shut, trying to remember, but I catch the flash of the emblem in her thoughts. “The fucking Bugatti.”

“Shit, man, she could be anywhere if she knows how to drive that thing,” Jax says, running his hands through his hair.

“She does, and she likes speed,” Jess whispers, placing her face in her hands. She looks up at me her eyes filled with tears. “Daris, she runs when she doesn’t know what else to do. She won’t be thinking clearly.” Her voice cracks and her shoulders start to shake. “Please find her. She’s not herself right now.” She is trembling as she claps her hands over her mouth, trying to stop the sobs. Jax pulls her to him, and she melts into his chest; he wraps his arms around her, making her look like a small child. My chest aches. I need my girl.

Ian rushes past them. He’s going to get on my laptop to search for his phone. He has an app on his phone to track the cars, I never bothered because they’re just cars. I can always get another one.

“Nathan, everyone can go back to…” I wave my hand, heading back to my office. The music resumes, and people will all think we found her. I do not want anyone to think she’s gone rogue and cause everyone to panic or, worse, try to find her.

Ian is tapping away on the laptop when I walk in.

“My phone isn’t far, but it’s not moving. She ditched it.”

  “The car?”

  “Working on it.”

“What the fuck was she thinking?!” I’m not directing the question to anyone, just wondering out loud. I stand at the window, watching everyone enjoying their night, and here I am, worried and fucking boiling mad. I am going to make her pay for this. Fucking falling in love, what the fuck was I thinking! Christ!

“Holy Christ.” Ian jumps up. “What!?” I snap. He shakes his head. “You need to stay fucking calm, Daris.” He mutters as he walks toward me, looking at me like he is waiting for the fallout.

“Well?!” I shout, stepping into him.

“The car is at the airport. We need to go now.” There is a tap on the door, and Derek from security pops his head in.

“Boss, the guys in the basement. What’d you want us to do with them?” They’re demanding to speak to you. They say they have information on… uh, your girl.”

“What?” Ian rushes him, whipping the door all the way open and backing him into the wall behind him. I don’t wait for an explanation. I head down to the basement and call Jax.

  “Boss?”

“Basement. Send two guys to the hangar. If there is anyone there, keep them there. No one lays a finger on Presly.” I know she’s gone, but it never hurts to check. Fuck we don’t have time for this, but they may have information about Presly’s whereabouts or plans. What could have happened out there to send her to the airport? Does Lucas have something to do with this?

The basement is made up of a few rooms, most for storage of some sort and two rooms reserved for shit like this. There are two men dressed in jeans and tee shirts standing beside one of the doors at the end of the hall. Both men straighten when they see me. I hear footsteps behind me now and clicking heels. What the fuck? I stop and turn to see Ian, Jax, and Nathan, and I catch sight of the source of the heels. Jess.

“She can’t fucking be here for this shit,” I growl, meeting Jax’s stare, I shake my head slightly.

“We couldn’t leave her up there.” He shrugs. Fuck he’s right. “You are no use to me. Go back upstairs.” He likes this part, inflicting pain to get information, and he’s good at it.

“I got it covered, D.” He walks past me to the door across from the one we are going in. He flings it open and motions for her to get in the room. It is not comfortable. It has cement floors, metal chairs, and a table. It isn’t meant for comfort. Jess cautiously approaches Jax and looks into the room but doesn’t step into it.

“I’m not waiting in there! It’s freezing and gross. No!” She crosses her arms, glaring up at him. Jax leans his face to hers.

“Get the fuck in, Princess, or I’ll make you. Don’t test me.” She turns to look at me and Ian as if we are going to help her. “Fuck you all.” She stomps in, and Jax pulls the door shut and locks it. He turns to the two men outside the door. “One of you get her a blanket and a… uh? Coffee?” He looks at me.
